This is a very personal project. It is long term and every image includes water in one form or another. It started in March 2019. At that point i hadn't shot anything seriously for almost a decade. I had fallen out of love with photography and i was suffering from mild depression. After being bought a pocket digital camera by my wife for the previous Christmas, i decided to dust off a few more of my old camera's. During a week off work i went out every day, taking pictures and seeing what happened. The resulting images re-ignited my passion. Not only that, i found that whole process had been extremely cathartic. Photography had lifted my depression and helped heal my mental issues. The first images were shot on New Brighton beach and included the incoming tide. Photographing water was the catalyst for my own self healing, hence the tile of my project.
